Training Partners

Post by tmbm50 »

I thought it would be good to create a list of training providers for the Piaggio.

In the US, I know of FlightSafety, their general pricing is below. Any others in the USA or elsewhere?

One Time – Single Event
$20,400 – Piaggio Avanti II Initial
$12,750 – Piaggio Avanti II Recurrent

13 Month Agreement* – Provides two One Time training events to the same pilot anytime over the 13 month agreement period.
$28,275 - Piaggio Avanti II Initial – 2021 / Piaggio Avanti II Recurrent – 2022
$20,250 - Piaggio Avanti II Recurrent – 2021 / Piaggio Avanti II Recurrent – 2022

That’s helpful, thank you. What locations is the Avanti training available?

FlightSafety for the P180 is in West Palm Beach FL. They "had" 2 sims. One is an Avanti II with Proline 21, and the other was a straight Avanti sim that could be converted into an Avanti II simulator. Apparently it took several hours to convert it between the two models. When I was there in October, they started dismantling it. So now there is just the II sim. Their logic seemed to be that anyone coming for straight Avanti training has non-standard avionics (GTN750, etc) anyway, so there is diminishing returns on maintaining it. So all the training for all model happens in the II simulator.
