Typical wear items

So I'm going through a prebuy and wondering if people can share their typical wear items to check.

I'll have a corrosion and boroscope done as well as airworthiness items, but I'm wondering about things like brake wear that could be in tolerance but end up being a costly repair in the near future if it's close to limits.

So beside brakes, what else is a typical wear item?

Here are a few items...

Typical Wear Areas
  • Boots on air intake
  • Brakes
  • Tires
  • Paint - Overall and Leading Edges
  • Nose gear bushings
  • Freon A/C holding charge
  • Flap drive motor
  • Pitch Trim Actuator
  • Windshield condition
  • Passenger window seals
I would test every system in the aircraft as thoroughly as possible from the avionics to the potty flush. Other considerations are ADS-B (Most should have by now), LPV (Many have WAAS but not LPV), Oil Dipsticks (New ones remove the 30 day/25hr visual check), engine time/program, landing gear time left, avionics (if Proline 21, is it, or will it be on CASP?).

Speaking about older Avanti I would suggest to thoroughly check the maintenance status of the electromechanical gyros part of the attitude reference system and the autopilot.

Those delicate items are day after day harder to maintain and still required by some of the retrofit STC's because of the limited autopilot compatibility with newer equipment.
